EDF is Britain’s biggest generator of zero-carbon electricity. We support 3.5 million British homes and businesses, as well as public services. We’re busy generating the right mix of wind, nuclear and solar electricity to power the nation. We’d love you to join our journey to help Britain achieve Net Zero.
The Opportunity…
As a Business Customer Service Accounts Advisor in Collections, you’ll be a supportive voice for EDF, contacting customers by telephone to chase overdue payments, identify issues causing delays in payment and to contact customers proactively to ensure payments are made to terms. You’ll apply your ability to communicate with compassion and empathy but also demonstrate the confidence and composure to set professional parameters and action steps.
As this is an entry level role, there is no requirement for previous experience within debt collections as full training will be provided. We are looking for someone with the following skills and a willingness to learn and engage with our customers over the phone.
Excellent communication skills: able to listen, speak and write confidently and with great attention to detail. Ability to have assertive conversations whilst being empathetic.
Organised problem solver: Takes ownership of complex issues, can work with customers or colleagues to find solutions, and deliver them in a friendly and timely manner.
Handles pressure well: High level of resilience and positivity managing change in an ever-evolving energy market whilst providing support and reassuring advice to our customers who are facing unprecedented economic challenges.
It would however be desirable if you had:
- Collections experience.
- Knowledge of the UK (United Kingdom) Energy Industry
- Experience of using multiple IT systems simultaneously with good computer literacy (including Microsoft Office software packages).
At EDF, success is personal. Here, you can develop a career that’s unique to you. This role includes the opportunity to achieve a Chartered Institute of Credit Management (CICM) credit management qualification, alongside your employment, at no extra cost to you. Whether in the future you’d like to move horizontally, deepen your specialty, or advance through the levels — it’s your career journey, powered by us.
Are You…?
- Located within a realistic, commutable distance from our Exeter office (EX1 3UT) as the role will require office attendance 1 or 2 days a week after initial training
- Available for an in-person interview, from 5.30pm, on November 19, 20, or 21, 2024
- Ready – if successful – to begin your next career step on January 3, 2025
- Looking for a busy but personable office environment, in a weekday 9-5 role
- Eager to learn the tools for this role via a six-week, office-based training programme
